The Angamedilla National Park situated in the MinneriyaGirithale Sanctuary: in the heart of Sri Lanka’s Dry Zone is a protected wildlife reserve. One of the main features of the Angammedilla National Park is the Angamedilla Gal Amuna (stone weri) which generates main feed to the ParakramaSamudraya, a mammoth reservoir built by the king Parkramabahu in 12th century in Sri Lanka. Angammedilla is not only habitant and homes for wildlife but also secures the drainage basins of Girithale as well as Minneriya tanks, water sources in White Hill known as Sudu Kanda.
Angammedilla National Park is recognized as one of the best parks for a wildlife safari in the island with its natural beauty, additional historical monument and relics.
